The Gasoline Market Research Advisor III plays a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions by providing deep market insights, competitor analysis, and actionable recommendations. The Advisor collaborates with commercial teams, senior management, and external partners to drive business objectives, support trading strategies, and anticipate market trends.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain advanced supply and demand models, incorporating market trends, macroeconomic variables, and import/export data to support trading and business objectives.
  • Execute market research projects, including competitor assessments and customer segmentation, to identify opportunities, threats, and emerging trends.
  • Analyze and synthesize data from diverse sources, performing ad hoc analysis, economic modeling, and tariff/logistics comparisons to inform strategic planning.
  • Create and review complex reports, translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations for commercial and strategic teams.
  • Support strategy development for supply and trading groups, leveraging global resources and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and brokers, to validate market views and integrate external perspectives.
  • Ensure the reliability and quality of market studies and reports, developing new methods and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Provide specialist advice on data interpretation, business policies, and process optimization to enable effective decision-making.

What You'll Bring - Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience in commodities markets, energy, agriculture, and/or renewables
  • Working knowledge of economic analysis, modeling, and investment appraisal
  • Working knowledge of data collection and analysis, market research, and assessment techniques
  • Advanced or greater proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and statistical software (SQL, Python, Tableau, R, and/or similar)

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $125,100 - $152,900. This role is eligible to participate in the company's commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
