Job description

Job Title: Cog Railway Retail Supervisor

Job Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour. 

Job Summary:

As a member of the Cog team, you will work in the iconic gift shop where you will be able to provide top notch hospitality and welcome guests into a gift shop representing the sheer beauty, excitement, and scenic grandeur of Pikes Peak & the Cog Railway.

What you will be doing:

  • Shift responsibilities of closing or opening at each day. 
  • Responsible for smooth operation of sales floor. 
  • Maintain adequate merchandise levels within company guidelines. 
  • Evaluate space allocations for retail items. 
  • Assign duties to workers and schedule break periods  
  • Train workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties. 
  • Keep inventory of supplies and equipment. 
  • Record delivery of merchandise, compares records with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels. 
  • Inspect merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed. 
  • Recommend additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in department. 
    Listen to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. 
  • Assist sales workers in completing difficult sales. 
  • Sell merchandise 
  • Audit cash receipts as per company policy. 
  • Plan store layout with retail manager and general manager 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have previous experience with providing exceptional customer service
  • Experience handling cash a plus
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift/pull/push up to 25 pounds and will be working in conditions that are both inside and outside at times.
  • Work schedule is non-standard.  Weekends and holidays required, some night and early morning work may be required.  Work load is seasonable with peak work coming in the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. 
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
