Job description

Vorst Rail Services, LLC is looking for an on-the-road mechanic to travel with the rail crew to work on equipment and vehicles. You will need to help rail crew when not working on vehicles and equipment. Previous experience and DOT certified is a plus. Cutting and welding is also a plus.


Employee would work on diesel pickup trucks, diesel dump trucks, diesel semi trucks, trailers, and mostly rail maintenance and laying equipment. Employee would perform electrical maintenance, trouble shooting, simple maintenance procedures and all repairs on-site as they occur. Employee may also be requested to do annual inspections of trucks and trailers required by DOT.


Company supplies tools and truck. Hours vary with crew schedule, and will include weekend work, normal 8 days straight then 6 days off. Travel paid, hotel paid (roomed with another employee), $50/night perdiem.


Benefits include medical, vision, dental, life, short term disability, supplemental insurance. Eligible for 401K after 6 months and paid vacation after 1 year of employment.
