Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography/CT Tech

Radiologic Technologist – CT Tech

Location: Jackson, MI 49201 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3×12 Nights Hours: 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on Facility Requirements

Job Summary: Under general supervision, performs computerized tomography (CT) procedures on patients and may perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and compliance with facility standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of hospital-based CT experience
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science in Radiology
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • ARRT Advanced Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) or CT Registry Eligible
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT scans according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Review patient history and requisitions to determine appropriate imaging procedures
  • Explain procedures and prepare patients for examinations
  • Operate CT equipment and ensure quality diagnostic imaging
  • Administer IV contrast media, including use of power injectors
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate care when necessary
  • Assist radiologists with sterile procedures, including biopsies
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles
  • Maintain image quality and resolve PACS image exceptions
  • Complete study documentation in RIS and medical records
  • Prepare procedure rooms and maintain supplies
  • Transport patients to and from the Emergency Department as needed
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care

Physical Requirements:

  • May work in hospital-based or mobile imaging environments
  • May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
  • Ability to lift and/or move patients and equipment exceeding 10 pounds as required
