Job description

Job/Position Summary


We are seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineering Manager to lead a growing test team in an advanced glass semiconductor wafer fab. This position is critical to moving products from development through qualification, ramp, and production. The candidate should come from a semiconductor background with a proven track record of shipping in high-volume production. The position is responsible for developing and overseeing testing of cutting-edge RF integrated passive devices (IPD) and advanced system-in-package (SiP) modules.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Development of test platforms to evaluate standard RF devices such as filters, couplers, inductors, capacitors, and interposers.
  • Support NPI introduction and work with customers and applications engineers to understand and drive testing and data requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations and manage production wafer acceptance testing and final test. Manage daily priorities and activities of technicians to ensure high test throughput. Support process development, yield improvement, and reliability.
  • Perform data analysis and present results to members of the engineering team and upper management.
  • Automate measurements, testing, and analysis using software tools such as Python and JMP. Automate data analysis and acceptance testing for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Use measurement equipment such as vector network analyzers, source meters, and digital multimeters to fully characterize electrical devices. Provide recommendations on equipment procurement as needed.
  • Design and build support fixtures, test setups, and harnesses for RF devices on wafers and evaluation boards. Design PCBs, sockets, probe cards, and other electrical test interfaces for product-level, in-line, and reliability testing.
  • Support wafer backend activities on assembly, dicing, AOI, and T&R. Coordinate module and SMT assembly as needed for NPI prototype development.
  • Coach technicians and engineers on RF, electrical, and reliability test procedures and practices.
  • Perform additional functions or requirements as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required; master's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years of RF testing experience.
  • Previous experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment and familiarity with manual and automated wafer probers.
  • Proficient in Python or similar scripting language; experience with use for data analysis and automation.
  • Travel requirements may be 10%.
  • This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information, and employees in these roles will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or the ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of S parameters, RF calibration, and deembedding techniques.
  • Circuit and EM simulation skills utilizing software such as ADS.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills including SPC, GR&R, Cp/Cpk.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous reliability testing experience, including operating life testing, environmental reliability testing; familiarity with industry reliability standards such as JEDEC or MIL-STD is preferred.


Physical/Working Requirements

  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day (where applicable).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
