Department: VIR Flagging and Communications
Reports To: VIR Logistics Manager
Purpose: The purpose of this position is to ensure track and participant safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Constantly monitor your zone for track activity and participant safety.
- Use proper flags and follow Control's directions for communication.
- Clearly report any traffic or safety issues via radio.
- Ensure spectators and photographers stay in authorized areas; report any fence breaches.
- Inspect your area regularly for debris or hazards.
- Be on station before hot track begins with all required equipment.
- Stay visible to drivers and prepared to stand in all weather.
- Return all equipment to the flag shack at day's end.
Requirements
- Arrive on time for morning meetings.
- Available to work weekends if needed.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Must work in all weather conditions.
- No visual or auditory impairments.
- Capable of waving two flags simultaneously, one in each hand.
- Speak clear English and communicate effectively over the radio.
