Reno Media Group Now Hiring: Broadcast Radio Engineer
Reno–Tahoe Area | 6-Station Group

Reno Media Group is seeking an experienced Broadcast Radio Engineer to support and maintain a six-station broadcast cluster (Plus translators) serving the Reno–Tahoe market. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-station environment and takes pride in keeping stations on the air, compliant, and sounding great.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AM/FM transmission systems, studios, STL links, and associated RF infrastructure

· Ensure FCC compliance, including EAS, tower lighting, and technical logs

· Perform routine preventative maintenance and respond to off-air emergencies

· Manage studio audio systems, consoles, automation, and IP-based broadcast equipment

· Coordinate tower site access, vendors, and contract engineers as needed

· Assist with technical planning for upgrades, facility improvements, and new installations

· Provide technical support to programming and operations staff

· Provide IT support to entire staff.

Qualifications

· 3 years prior radio broadcast engineering experience required

· Strong working knowledge of RF systems, transmitters, antennas, and studio equipment

· Familiarity with modern digital audio, automation systems, and IP networking

· FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (or ability to obtain) preferred

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to transmitter sites

· Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize across multiple stations

· Experience with GatesAir FAX series FM transmitters preferred.

· Experience with Wheatstone IP based consoles preferred.

· Experience with RCS Nexgen Digital Automation preferred.
