Radiation Oncology Service Engineer Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The Baltimore VA Medical Center with Radiation Oncologists. The Radiation Oncologist is expected to do the following:   

VA Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 0800 -1630 Clinic time and Radiation treatment procedures will all be performed.  Work Schedule:  The schedule for services may vary. 

• Works with and is supported by Radiation Oncology Service leadership. Provides direct clinical and administrative oversight for mid-level practitioners, physics, dosimetry, radiation therapists and other clinical staff as assigned. Responsible for providing services in an efficient, high-quality, cost-effective manner within budget allocation.
• Works directly with Chief, Radiation Oncology Service to assist in ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing. Participates in recruitment, hiring, evaluation and disciplinary actions for staff.
• Works with the Chief, Radiation Oncology Service, and other staff as appropriate, supports operations issues/problems resolution in a logical, stepwise fashion. Participates in a forum in which staff identifies, communicates, and resolves issues related to Radiation Oncology Service, Medical Center ancillary and support operations, and VISN-wide mandates.
• Works with the Chief, Radiation Oncology Service, and other disciplines as necessary to support, contribute to and implement policies, procedures, performance goals, strategic plans, and initiatives.
• Seeks and enhances opportunities to promote and strengthen the Medical Center's and VISN goals. Responsible for implementing the goal of improving care for patients within the Medical Center and VISN.
• Contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of relations with internal and external entities including but not limited to medical and nursing schools, therapist training programs, local public and private health care entities, colleagues in other Patient Services and Integrated Services such as Information Technology, Laboratory, and Business Office, labor, and VISN.
• Participates in Radiation Oncology Service strategic planning.
• Participates in local administrative, management, quality assurance, and other assignments, meetings, or committees.
• Provides direct patient care as a consultant in outpatient clinics and/or inpatient wards and will participate in the Radiation Oncology Service on call schedule.
• Participates in regular peer review activities.
• Must be alert to patient's condition and disorders. Reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so harm does not come to the patient.
• Maintains patient records and files. Follows HIPPA guidelines regarding patient information.
• Ensures timely completion of daily clinic notes with accurate documentation and coding of service rendered.
• Practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self, in compliance with department and VA radiation safety procedures to maintain occupational exposures "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).

Requirements

• Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Shall be board certified. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
• Shall provide American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified physicians in the area of Radiation Oncology and contract physicians shall maintain certification throughout the period of performance.
• Shall provide copy of current DEA certificate registered in the state in which  services are provided. 
• Must have at least five (5) years of documented post-residency experience and at least three (3) years of continuous work experience within the last five (5) years to ensure the radiation oncologist's experience is current and relevant. Radiation Oncologist must be ABR   certified 
• Valid BLS and or ACLS
