Job description

Shifts Available: Variable

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Hours: Variable

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

We are seeking a CT Technologist, sometimes referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech or Rad Tech II).  As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.


** To perform duties in this position you must be CT certified and certified in one other modality. 

  • Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
  • Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
  • Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam, you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
  • Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images

  • Licensure as required by State
  • Effective July 1, 2017appropriate national certifications in two modalities required
  • Current BCLS (AHA)
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program required, JRCERT accreditation preferred
  • Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations
  • Proficient computer skills
  • One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
