Position Summary
The Vice President, Investor Relations is responsible for defining, developing, and executing Rackspace Technology's global Investor Relations strategy to effectively communicate the Company's business strategy, financial performance, technology leadership, and long-term growth opportunities to the investment community. This executive serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Leadership Team, providing insights that support corporate strategy and maximize long-term, sustainable shareholder value.
The Vice President leads all investor relations activities, manages relationships with financial analysts, institutional investors, shareholders, and other capital markets stakeholders, and shapes the Company's external financial narrative. This role monitors market developments, investor sentiment, competitive dynamics, and shareholder activity while providing strategic counsel to executive leadership regarding external perceptions of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Define, develop, and execute Rackspace Technology's Investor Relations strategy, ensuring alignment with the Company's business objectives and long-term value creation strategy.
  • Lead the strategic planning and ongoing development of all Investor Relations activities that enhance Rackspace Technology's reputation and credibility within the investment community.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, CFO, and Executive Leadership Team by providing market intelligence, investor feedback, and insights into industry and competitive trends.
  • Develop and evolve the long-term vision for the Investor Relations function, establishing strategies that directly support enterprise performance and shareholder value.

Investor & Analyst Relations
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts, investment professionals, and current and prospective shareholders.
  • Lead communications and information exchange with Wall Street firms covering Rackspace Technology, ensuring analysts remain informed on publicly disclosed business developments and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and communicate the Company's investment thesis and key messages for existing and prospective investors.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with shareholders by providing timely, accurate, and consistent communications regarding publicly disclosed information.

Financial Communications
  • Lead the planning and execution of quarterly earnings communications, including earnings releases, investor presentations, earnings call scripts, executive messaging, and Q&A materials.
  • Prepare executive leadership for earnings calls, investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and analyst engagements.
  • Develop compelling presentations and communication materials that effectively articulate Rackspace Technology's strategy, financial performance, technology differentiation, and growth opportunities.

Capital Markets Engagement
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, analyst meetings, and other investor engagement activities.
  • Develop and execute engagement strategies that maximize investor outreach and strengthen relationships with the investment community.
  • Lead in-house investor meetings, analyst briefings, and executive presentations.

Market Intelligence & Reporting
  • Monitor stock performance, analyst coverage, shareholder activity, market trends, and industry developments.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking, competitive landscape analysis, and market research to assess Rackspace Technology's positioning.
  • Analyze investor feedback and market sentiment, preparing reports and executive summaries that provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Regulatory & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Corporate Communications to support SEC disclosures, including Annual Reports, Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other required filings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable securities regulations, including Regulation FD and public company disclosure requirements.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to ensure consistent messaging across investor, media, and corporate communications, providing timely, accurate, and coordinated responses to external inquiries.

Leadership Scope
  • Primarily responsible for the development, evolution, and executive alignment of the long-term vision for Rackspace Technology's Investor Relations function.
  • Establishes enterprise strategies for Investor Relations that support the Company's corporate strategy and long-term shareholder value creation.
  • Leads the development and execution of functional strategies with significant influence on the Company's reputation in the capital markets.
  • Directly impacts broader organizational performance through strategic communications, investor confidence, market credibility, and executive decision support.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a public-facing role representing a publicly traded company or an investment firm, with demonstrated expertise in Investor Relations, capital markets, corporate finance, or financial communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including responsibility for developing strategy, leading teams, and partnering with executive leadership.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with institutional investors, financial analysts, investment professionals, and shareholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quarterly earnings communications, investor presentations, analyst engagements, roadshows, and other capital markets communications.
  • Strong understanding of SEC disclosure requirements, public company reporting, Regulation FD, and corporate governance practices.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to interpret market trends, investor sentiment, and competitive dynamics.

Preferred
  • Experience on Wall Street, including investment banking, equity research, institutional investing, or asset management.
  • Previous Investor Relations leadership experience supporting a publicly traded technology company.
