Job description

Mobile Tire Technician

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Mannassas VA
Department: Mobile Tire Installation
Schedule: Minimum 40-hour work week

Pay Range: $22/hr–$27/hr, based on relevant experience

About the Role

Tire Rack is seeking motivated, customer-focused Mobile Tire Technicians who want to help change the way tires are purchased and installed. In this role, you'll spend your day in one of our custom-equipped mobile installation vans, traveling to customers' homes and workplaces to provide convenient, professional tire services.

Each customer appointment is scheduled in advance, with their tires already purchased and loaded into your van for service. You'll work directly with customers, perform high-quality tire installations and services, and deliver the exceptional experience they expect from Tire Rack.

We'll provide the tools and training you need to succeed, including a one-week paid training program, a mobile installation van, professional tools, and touchless tire-changing equipment. This is an opportunity to build your technical skills, work independently in the field, and develop a rewarding career while providing a service that gives our customers more time to do the things they enjoy.

What You'll DoTire Installation & Service
  • Perform tire services, including mounting and balancing tires, installations, and tire repairs.
  • Use professional tire service tools and touchless tire-changing equipment to complete services safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct proper safety checks during every tire installation.
  • Follow Tire Rack mobile installation policies, procedures, and safety standards on every appointment.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure services are completed correctly and professionally.
Mobile Service & Driving
  • Load and prepare the mobile installation van for scheduled customer appointments.
  • Safely and professionally drive the mobile installation van to and from customer homes and workplaces.
  • Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the mobile installation van and equipment.
  • Manage scheduled appointments efficiently while maintaining safety and service standards.
Customer Experience
  • Greet customers professionally at their home or workplace and explain the tire installation process.
  • Answer customer questions and provide clear, helpful information throughout the appointment.
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience during every interaction.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with each completed service.
Safety & Physical Responsibilities
  • Follow established safety procedures while operating vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Perform manual tasks for extended periods, including standing, bending, squatting, and lifting.
  • Safely lift and handle tires, wheels, equipment, and other materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support mobile tire installation operations.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations and/or one (1) accident on driving record within the past five years.
  • No drug- or alcohol-related driving convictions, including DUI/DWI, within the past five years.
  • Must be able to attend a one-week training program in South Bend, Indiana.
  • TIA Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 80 pounds and standing, bending, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous tire service, automotive service, or related experience.
  • Experience mounting, balancing, installing, or repairing tires.
  • Previous experience working directly with customers in a service environment.
Training

Tire Rack provides a one-week paid training program designed to prepare Mobile Tire Technicians for success in the field. Technicians receive hands-on instruction and access to the equipment, tools, and resources needed to safely and professionally perform mobile tire services.

Prior tire service experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated candidates who demonstrate strong customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.
