Job Summary:

The Data Center Technician L3 role involves supporting the build-out and operation of a high-performance data center, managing complex tasks, and ensuring operational efficiency through troubleshooting and incident response.
Responsibilities:
• Perform rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling during deployment phase
• Support system provisioning, configuration, and validation activities
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Layer 1–3 (hardware, cabling, and network)
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex operational issues
• Interface with network devices via CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell)
• Utilize Linux systems for troubleshooting and operational support
• Maintain accurate asset and inventory records using ITSM/DCIM tools
• Participate in change management, including maintenance windows and production changes
• Support transition from build phase to steady-state operations, including documentation and process adherence
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards
• Participate in on-call rotation supporting 24x7 operations
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required for coordination with cross-functional teams
• Advanced hands-on experience with data center hardware, cabling, and infrastructure environments
• Proficiency with Linux systems for troubleshooting and basic scripting tasks
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot network hardware using CLI tools
• Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management (installation, maintenance, decommissioning)
• Experience working within structured operational processes (SOPs, change management, ticketing systems)
• Familiarity with ITSM/DCIM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)
• Strong cable management and structured cabling skills (fiber and copper)
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently when needed
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
• Ability to respond to on-call incidents within defined timelines
• Reliable transportation to work location(s)
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (certification preferred)
• 4+ years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environments
• Proven experience with rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling
• Experience provisioning and re-provisioning systems (USB, PXE, or network-based methods)
• Experience bootstrapping network devices and configuring IP addressing
• Working knowledge of Linux systems and basic scripting (e.g., Bash, Ansible)
• Experience supporting enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar)
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, Layer 2/3 concepts)
• Experience working within ticketing systems (Jira preferred)
• Knowledge of data center best practices (redundancy, fault tolerance, cabling standards)
• Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and infrastructure systems
Preferred:
• CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent
• ITIL Foundation
• CCNA or similar networking certification
