Job description

Overview 

HPR is the leading provider of high-performance and ultra-low latency electronic trading and capital markets infrastructure solutions offered as a managed service. Our cutting-edge technology is used by tier-1 financial institutions to monitor and execute trades rapidly and efficiently. As we continue to innovate and grow, we are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, endpoints, and day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT generalist with strong Linux systems administration experience who is equally comfortable with endpoint deployments, patch management, vulnerability management, and security monitoring. 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or IT Administrator.
  • Strong experience administering Linux systems with working knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management solutions and tools.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible).
  • Good understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and storage.
  • Knowledge of compliance and security standards (CIS benchmarks, ISO 27001).
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Ability and willingness to continuously learn new technologies and stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements.
  • Experience assembling, installing, and troubleshooting server hardware.  
  • Experience with rack installation, cable management, and data center best practices.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in server rooms and data center environments for extended periods. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning, workstation deployment, and access management.
  • Install, update, and troubleshoot operating systems and software applications.
  • Manage Windows and Linux operating system updates and security patches.
  • Manage Active Directory and Microsoft 365 user accounts and permissions.
  • Support virtual machines and assist with infrastructure administration.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance tracking.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash, PowerShell, or Ansible.
  • Assemble, install, rack, and decommission servers and other IT equipment.  
  • Perform rack organization, cable management, and equipment labeling.

Compensation: In compliance with Massachusetts law, the anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $63,000 to $156,000. Please note that this range represents the expected base salary for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. This range does not include other forms of compensation such as potential bonuses, equity, or benefits.
