A large global systems integrator is supporting Google’s Patch Panel program and is seeking both L1 and L2 Data Center Technicians in the greater Ashburn, VA area.


L1 Data Center Technician

Focus: Entry-level support with hands-on hardware responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with moves, adds, and changes (MAC) for equipment and cabling
  • Perform basic hardware tasks such as racking and stacking servers and network equipment
  • Install copper and fiber cabling, including labeling and documenting connections
  • Monitor environmental conditions and follow operational checklists
  • Escalate issues when necessary while learning systems and processes

L2 Data Center Technician

Focus: Intermediate technical support with greater independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead MAC operations and ensure adherence to cabling and racking standards
  • Install copper and fiber cabling, including labeling and documentation
  • Perform racking, stacking, and structured cabling for new deployments independently
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and hardware issues, including fiber diagnostics
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support infrastructure upgrades
