The Data Center Services team is looking for a highly skilled Sr Analyst, Data Center Practitioner to work on our raised floor operations at Nationwide. In this role you will provide 24/7 onsite support for Nationwide infrastructurehardware.

The Data Center Services Practitioner supports and maintains infrastructure across all environments. You play a vital role in fulfillment of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
You'll collaborate with individuals across many professional areas to execute tasks and contribute recommendations based on operational observations, production and test performance/environments and end user needs/requirements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for PCI compliance (including audit activities) and performs work in adherence with IT Service Management best practices.

  • Develops standard, repeatable production processes, creating standard documentation; partners with other support organizations to set up and execute.

  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Supports delivery teams in their release activities and engages in critical situations and remediation of security vulnerabilities.

  • Installs, maintains, and decommissions production hardware (i.e., HP servers, Cisco network equipment, firewall appliances)

  • Oversee and perform cable management including planning, labeling, installation, validation, testing for reuse, etc.

  • Perform hardware repairs for equipment on the raised floor to support the production environment.

  • Ensure raised floor standards are maintained and followed by all associates and vendors.

  • Ensures currency of data in configuration management tools (i.e., Athena, APRM, ServiceNow).

  • Responsible for generating and performing network configuration changes in production/test environments; including planning, scheduling, documentation, testing and coordination.

  • Proactively and reactively manages system events to meet Nationwide's internal and external commitments.

  • Delivers application functionality and services against defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operating Level Agreements (OLA).

  • Maintains operational knowledge of platforms, technologies, and applications.

  • Communicates status of issues/incidents/changes from shift to shift to support production environment.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director, Technology Partner Leader.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or a related field is preferred.

License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or designation are not required, but encouraged (i.e.: CCNA, CompTIA, AWS, Security).

Experience: Two or more years of technology experience with data center / rack mounted hardware (i.e., HP Servers, Cisco equipment, IBM, EMC, Pure storage). One or more years of experience using basic levels of troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong communication skills, knowledge of planning, management, and execution of network configurations. Influencing, negotiating and priority setting is needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
