Extrusion Saw Operator – Day Shift

Pries Enterprises is looking for an Extrusion Saw Operator to join our team! This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast paced manufacturing environment and take pride in producing quality work.

Ability to read a tape measure accurately and multitask is required.

Schedule
  • Night Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule

Position Summary

The Extrusion Saw Operator is responsible for accurately cutting aluminum extrusions to customer specifications, inspecting product quality, and coordinating with Saw Helpers to maintain production flow. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customers receive quality products that meet all dimensional and appearance requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Verify order information, lengths, and die profiles in EPICS and compare to work orders.

  • Confirm cut tolerances and production specifications before processing material.

  • Inspect material for defects, burrs, and quality concerns; properly identify and scrap defective material.

  • Position saw guides and stops according to required cut specifications.

  • Inspect and monitor saw equipment, including blades, lubrication systems, chip collectors, and chip barrels.

  • Direct and support a team of 1–2 Saw Helpers to maintain production efficiency and quality standards.

  • Ensure automated stacking equipment is properly aligning material according to balance and rack-loading standards.

  • Create rack configurations that protect material and prevent damage during handling and shipment.

  • Accurately tag finished racks with sales order number, die number, quantity, length, finish, and temper information.

  • Maintain production records and quality standards throughout the shift.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping requirements.

  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment concerns to a Supervisor and/or the Safety Department.

  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready.
