About the opportunity: Senior Power & Controls Engineer


We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Power & Controls Engineer in our office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Power & Controls team, which is responsible for developing designs for electrical, instrument, and control systems and performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.


Responsibilities include:

  • The Senior Power & Controls Engineer prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.
  • Resolving coordination conflicts effectively, negotiating win-win solutions to multi-discipline project design issues.
  • With appropriate support, ensure that vendor submittals align with their intended use and coordinate a multi-discipline review of vendor documents. Resolve any conflicting comments while considering the costs associated with requested changes. Prepare a consolidated set of comments for the vendor’s response.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress against engineering schedules and budgets. Independently taking corrective actions to meet the plan.
  • Developing an independent quality plan to supplement the normal project execution plan when appropriate. Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the work produced in concert with project team objectives and customer expectations.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
  • Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License
