Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for maintenance of the racetrack and racing grounds; and greets and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner.
  • Maintains the appearance of the track to maintain required standards; maintains plants, trees and shrubs and applies chemicals as needed under supervision.
  • Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery and equipment to include tractor, pick-up truck, and a variety of hand power and manual maintenance tools.
  • Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties to include weed treatment, painting, trash collection and operating of irrigation systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as needed; and cares and maintains all light and heavy equipment.
  • Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner.
  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of track and ground maintenance.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High school diploma and some grounds and maintenance experience
  • Must maintain an Ohio Racing Commission license.
  • Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
