Job description

Roles & Responsibilities
1) Candidate should have strong knowledge on Oracle Databases having worked as Database Administrator
2) Experience in trouble shooting GI, Database and performance tuning issues in RAC/Non-RAC set up
3) Good knowledge of UNIX environments (AIX/RHEL)
4) Strong Performance tuning experience with a good understanding of database statistics, Locks & Blocking sessions, Explain plan analysis, AWR report analysis, Server resource monitoring etc.
5) Experience on applying/maintaining GI and Database & DB security patches
6) Should be able to create, maintain Data guard databases, troubleshoot and fix DG issues
7) Strong in handling all types of backups, refreshes and recovery procedures
8) Good understanding of database partitioning, database security architecture and maintenance
9) Responsible for making detailed technical RCA of problems, and taking appropriate remedial actions
10) ACFS & Adding and resizing of ASM disk groups
11) Work on issues that couldnt be resolved by L2 team
12) Formulating Backup and Recovery strategies
13) Database upgrades/migrations
14) Install and configure Oracle enterprise manager Grid control
15) Formulating Backup and Recovery strategies
16) Handle RAC databases from a design, implementation, management and technical support perspective
17) Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB
18) Execution of data migration jobs and scripts as required
19) Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB
20) Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans
21) Create a reliable backup strategy. Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality
22) Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards
23) Advance Finetuning concepts in Database
24) Managing the Database Team in various location and guiding them to Handle the daily operations smoothly
25) Security Patching of Database to be handled on time in coordination with the Application Team
26) Troubleshooting of cluster failures, ASM disk groups failures and DR related problem etc
27) Database monitoring job automation. Any other DBA activities to fix any operational issues to make sure 24x7 uptime of databases

Base Salary Range : $100,000 to $120,000 Per Annum
