As an PH Part Time Pediatric Dentist within the District Two Public Health Dental Department that serves in Hart County & Franklin County. At District Two, Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties. One of the fastest growing regions in the state, District 2 includes rural and urban communities with diverse public health challenges. Job Responsibilities
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of staff.
Diagnoses, treats, prevents and controls disorders of the teeth and mouth including gums and related oral structures.
May treat diseases of nerve, pulp and other dental tissues affecting vitality of teeth.
  • Perform hygiene exams
  • Performs dental exams
  • Take x-rays
  • Apply fluoride and/or sealants
  • Perform prophies, restorations and extractions
  • Prescribe medications for dental problems
  • Keep records relating to health and treatment of patients
  • Work within an equal partnering team and may instruct dental and non-dental staff
  • Experience with Pediatric dentistry
  • Willingness to travel (potential reimbursement)
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Preferences:
  • Familiarity with Medicaid & Chips Program
  • Comfortable with pediatric practices

Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or professional degree in dentistry from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience AND current Georgia license to practice dentistry.
