Who we are looking for:

This position will perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.

What you’ll be doing:

 Including, but not limited to:

  • Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations provided.
  • Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results.
  • Evaluating site conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations.
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.

What you need to have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete are required
  • Or an Engineering Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing through routine reports and correspondence.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
  • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs. on a continual basis in all weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
  • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites is required.
  • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements of this position.
