An R developer is a software developer that specializes in the free software environment and programming language know as R. As an R developer, your responsibilities revolve around writing code for data analysis, statistical computing, and modeling. Qualifications are not universal for this career, but you likely need at least an associate degree in computer science. Since there is no formal certification for the R language, you should develop a strong portfolio to showcase your skills. Experience with statistics is also essential for this role.
