Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for performing stability studies on formulations as provided by formulation chemist. Maintains an accurate inventory of development and approved raw materials, including all Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA). Prepares and submits sample prototypes while ensuring accurate preparation for shipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs product stability testing (i.e. Appearance/Color/Odor, pH, viscosity, density) and analytical analysis as required based on formulation needs. Alerts formulation team when corrective action is needed.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of development and approved raw materials
  • Performs general laboratory duties as requested and maintains accuracy of notebooks, records, equipment logs and raw material files.
  • Standardizes and calibrates laboratory and analytical instruments according to the cGMP requirements.
  • Maintains equipment quality and alerts management when corrective action is needed.
  • Follows all safety policies and maintains good housekeeping in work area.
  • Participates in laboratory training as required.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a Quality or R&D laboratory is a plus
  • Basic analytical skills, mathematical skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Develop basic fundamentals in understanding laboratory and IT systems.
  • Working knowledge of chemical principles and formulation procedures
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory aspects such as ICH and cGMP requirements as it relates to a topical OTC manufacturing laboratory is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, as well as good teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks on an on-going basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and demonstrate flexibility towards customer satisfaction
  • Must have a positive attitude
