Job description

We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a company in Bronx, New York with a hands-on accounting cleanup initiative. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can assess financial records, resolve inconsistencies, and bring structure to day-to-day bookkeeping activities. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, using QuickBooks Online and Excel to strengthen accuracy across core accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Review financial records in detail to uncover inconsistencies, missing entries, and accounting errors that require correction.
• Perform full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including maintaining accurate general ledger activity and supporting month-to-month financial accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable processes by organizing invoices, preparing payments, and ensuring disbursements are recorded properly.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks, including tracking incoming payments, applying cash receipts, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations to confirm that transactions align with supporting records and resolve variances promptly.
• Use QuickBooks Online to update bookkeeping data, correct historical issues, and improve the reliability of financial information.
• Build and maintain Excel-based schedules and reports to analyze transactions and support account cleanup efforts.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify accounting questions, document corrections, and maintain orderly financial records.• Demonstrated experience working as a Full Charge Bookkeeper in a fast-paced business environment.
