We're looking for an experienced Quick Lube Assistant Manager to join our family-owned and operated dealership in Lansing, MI. If you're passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, leading a team, and keeping service operations running efficiently, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of our Quick Lube department.
  • Lead, coach, and schedule Quick Lube technicians.
  • Greet customers, write repair orders, and recommend maintenance services.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and high customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor productivity, sales, and department performance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00a-6:00p, Saturday coverage discussed as needed

SUMMARY

The Quick Lube Assistant Manager sells shop services to customers and helps the Manager with the total operation of the Quick Lube department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.

Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty and genuine concern for the customers.

Promptly meet and greet Service customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Write orders for customer requested service and advises customer regarding maintenance of their vehicle.

Create properly prepared repair orders, estimates and invoices.

Inspect repairs and maintenance jobs for proper completion.

Maintain a work schedule for all Quick Lube employees.

Review the courtesy inspection sheet for completion and quality.

Track and report to the Service Manager information that is required.

Refer all repair and maintenance questions to a service advisor.

Strive to increase sales and production.

Advise the Service Manager of any situation that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the Dealership, its employees or customers.

Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.

Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.

Provides a complete and accurate written estimate for parts and labor.

Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.

Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.

Implements and maintains a service marketing program.

Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.

Explains completed work and all charges to customers.

Implements a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.

Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.

Keeps work area clean.

MARGINAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Quick Lube. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
