The Open Data Analytics Engines (ODAE) Runtime Team owns the massively parallel query execution engine at the heart of the Analytics data plane. Our singular obsession: performance. We are building the world's fastest query engine - one that powers multiple AWS services and processes data at scale.
An ideal candidate would have a background (or deep interest) in distributed systems, databases, or query engines such as Apache Spark and understands how queries are optimized, planned, and executed end-to-end


Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will build systems that benefit Analytics customers across the world. You will take significant ownership on the overall product vision by defining new features and architecture

You will distill complex and ambiguous requirements, converting them into meaningful projects that provide immense customer value. You will own and code end-to-end deliverables from design, development, deployment, monitoring, and operations. You will lead engineers on substantial projects and help develop a flourishing team through active mentoring and hiring.
