Job description

We are currently accepting applications for Quarry Laborers wanting to advance their construction careers. The ideal candidate will be able to safely prepare and manipulate heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials and liaising with coworkers to ensure that the projects are completed accurately.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
  • General site labor including shoveling material from around equipment, assisting with plant clean up and operations.
  • Ability to obtain the knowledge to assist with plant maintenance work - screen changes, conveyor greasing, roller & bearing changed, belt splicing, etc.
  • Running various pieces of equipment as needed - such as a bobcat skid steer, water truck, and haul truck.
  • Training in various production positions to fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times.
  • Run water truck to control dust on roadways.
  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management; help maintain the quarry site and equipment.
  • Complete daily inspections and reports.
  • Assist other team members as needed and/or other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, which will include plant clean-up, production, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience working in mining or construction environment preferred.
  • Experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment - bobcat, skid steer, loader, and haul truck is a plus.
  • Initiative-taking individual - must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision.
  • Ability to learn and progress through the task training process.
  • Ability to understand basic safety and work instructions.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime, as necessary.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Work environment is consistent of an office and facility with construction equipment inventory and repair/service shop and may also include construction job site.
  • Noise levels can be loud.
  • Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
  • PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
  • Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.
