Job description

Company Information

QB Energy is on a clear path to becoming one of the top natural gas producers in the country, backed by Quantum Energy Partners, one of the top private equity firms in energy, with a 20-year drilling inventory and integrated upstream and midstream operations built to compete with the best gas projects in North America. We create long-term value through continuous improvement and bold innovation — and we're looking for entrepreneurial people who want to help build that future, not just work in it.

Operating across roughly 400,000 net acres in the Piceance Basin of Western Colorado, we're proving that aggressive growth and real environmental stewardship go hand in hand. Join a team that takes as much pride in how we build this company as in what we produce.

Job Summary

QB Energy is looking for a Procurement Manager to partner with the leads of Drilling, Completions, Facilities, Construction, and Production Operations on QB’s multi-billion dollar spend — going beyond bidding to identify investment opportunities, adopt new tools, and mentor the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  •       Sourcing & Contract Leadership: Lead sourcing, bidding, and contract negotiations for QB’s largest spend categories.
  •       Market & Vendor Management: Monitor market costs/trends and manage vendor relationships to drive outcomes beyond price.
  •       Technical Coordination & Inventory: Standardize specs with technical teams and maintain visibility into logistics-yard inventory for sourcing decisions.
  •       Performance & Team Management: Track cost, cycle time, and vendor performance metrics, and manage/mentor procurement staff.
  •       Procurement Administration & Compliance: Oversee PO/contract approvals and OpenInvoice accuracy, ensuring sourcing/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

Education:

  •      Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience:

  •      10+ years of oil & gas procurement/supply chain experience, including 3-4+ years leading sourcing or contract negotiation; experience managing direct reports a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  •      Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strategic vendor relationships.
  •      Proficient in Excel/MS Office and Enverus OpenInvoice, with a proactive, coaching-oriented mindset and willingness to travel to field locations.

Compensation

The base compensation for this role in this location is targeted between $130,000 and $164,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the range listed above.

Benefits and Perks

As a QB Energy employee, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage (lowest-tier medical premiums covered 100% for employees and dependents), company-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 6% of compensation, paid time off and holidays, gym membership reimbursement, an onsite gym, cellphone reimbursement, and paid parking or an RTD pass.

This posting does not list every duty or responsibility of the role, and QB Energy may adjust responsibilities at any time.
