Job Description:
At Regions, the Capital Markets Quantitative Analyst is responsible for developing quantitative/analytic models to support the Capital Markets group. The Quantitative Analyst works as part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of quantitative models for Derivative products (Rates, Commodities, Credit), Foreign Exchange (FX), Leveraged Loan Trading, and Fixed Income trading.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert for analytics related Capital Markets business lines (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income trading, Real Estate, Loan Syndications).
  • Supports senior management team and leads the research, design and implementation of new financial products in the development of trading and hedging strategies
  • Serves as the leader for Model Development & Validation groups to satisfy requirements for sound model building practices
  • Helps ensure the analytics project pipeline is completed and aligns with the strategy of the Capital Markets group
  • Builds relationships across the various teams in Capital Markets and the larger banking organization

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This is a single incumbent position
Requirements
  • 10 years of relevant experience working on internal trading models with expertise with trading systems like Calypso, Murex, BlackRock Aladdin etc.
  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Prior experience in complex quantitative analysis for one or more Capital Markets business lines (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income trading, Real Estate, Loan Syndications)
  • Master's degree in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Math, Physics, Economics, Engineering or other quantitative field with proven record of high achievement
  • Strong organization and communication (written, oral and interpersonal) skills
  • Comfortable building models using Excel VBA, R or Matlab
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced trading floor environment
  • Advanced knowledge of market practices across traded products - Rate Derivatives, FX, Commodities, Credit Derivatives (CDX, CMBX etc.), Repos, Debt Products etc.
  • Experience working in a bank environment and knowledge of regulatory requirements (Dodd Frank, Volcker, Basel III etc.).

This position will require a minimum of 4 days in-office at our Midtown Altlanta location.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
