StraCon is seeking a Full-Time Financial Analyst, Journeyman to join our team in supporting the NAVAIR program office in Patuxent River, MD. The Financial Analyst will Provide financial management and analytical support for Navy programs, with a focus on executing financial transactions, supporting spend plan management, and assisting with program financial activities across DoD systems. Executing financial documents in Navy ERP, supporting execution of spend plans in CSPT, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Financial Analyst, Journeyman's duties include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Job Duties:
Financial Execution & Oversight
  • Execute, track, and reconcile financial transactions and documents in Navy ERP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Department of the Navy processes.
  • Support the management and execution of spend plans using the Command Spend Plan Tool (CSPT), including data entry, updates, and reporting.
  • Conduct quantitative financial analyses to support program requirements and leadership decision-making.
  • Assist with financial documentation and tracking related to appropriated funds and program execution.

Budget Formulation & Analysis
  • Support the development, maintenance, and analysis of spend plans, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Analyze program financial requirements in support of pricing elements such as P&A, LOA, amendments, modifications, and revisions.
  • Apply knowledge of financial management processes and analytical methods to evaluate data for BFMs and program/case managers.

Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with BFMs, program managers, case managers, technical leads, and other analysts to support program objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional team activities, providing financial data, analysis, and documentation as needed in a deadline-driven environment.

Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure financial activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain financial trackers, documentation, and reports for leadership review.
  • Support reconciliation and financial auditing efforts as required.

FMS Support (Journeyman Level)
  • Assist in FMS pre-case, case execution, reconciliation, and case closure tasks.
  • Experience with FMS processes and systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Exposure to DSAMS, MISIL, SCIP, DIFS, or similar systems is beneficial.

Travel Requirements:
  • N/A

Required Experience:
  • 3 to 8 years of experience performing duties compatible with the functional description.
  • Required: Experience executing financial transactions in Navy ERP.
  • Required: Proficiency in CSPT (Command Spend Plan Tool).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with DoD financial systems such as DSAMS, MISIL, SCIP, or DIFS (per functional description).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting FMS case development, execution, or reconciliation activities.
  • Knowledge of FMS financial policies and procedures.
  • Experience with DoD SAP-related procedures is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting Navy financial management or acquisition programs.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Security Clearance Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to employment.

The estimated base salary range for this position is between $80,000.00 - $112,000.00.
