Position Summary
Vascular Access and Emergency Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to join our team! The Financial Analyst Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of a medical device company while gaining hands-on work experience in a corporate setting during this paid internship.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide financial guidance to the VEM Business Unit through financial planning and analysis as well as general accounting.
The ideal candidate will be available to work 20 hours a week for one year, with the potential to extend the internship.
Principal Responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Participate in the forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Perform quarterly audits to ensure adherence to our Travel and Purchasing Card Policies.
• Provide enhancements to our reporting through automation.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting requirements and special projects as they arise.
• Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, and procedures.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Rising junior or senior enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Analytics/Business or related field. Must be in good academic standing.
• SAP and Power BI experience preferred but can be taught within the role.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Basic accounting/finance/business courses required; intermediate accounting/finance/business courses preferred.
• Basic understand of balance sheets and income statements.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
• Independent thinker that can take initiative to investigate and problem-solve without significant direction.
• Big picture orientation with strong attention to detail will be critical for success in this role.
• Ability and motivation to work both independently and as part of a team.
