Job Description
The Quantitative Equity Research team at Columbia Threadneedle Investments is seeking a Quantitative Analyst. The team develops and maintains a comprehensive suite of stock selection models that generate insights for both systematic and fundamental investment strategies. The analyst will research stock selection signals, develop alpha models, and refine portfolio construction methodologies. The role also involves enhancing the team's research and analytics platforms and sharing responsibility for implementing and maintaining quantitative models in production as well as developing new models. The analyst will collaborate with fundamental research analysts and portfolio managers across the organization to exchange ideas, communicate insights, and broaden their expertise across various investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to research projects through idea generation, data preparation, statistical analysis, and development of actionable recommendations
  • Evaluate innovative techniques to extract tradable signals from large datasets
  • Research and develop advanced model construction methodologies
  • Enhance the team's research infrastructure, production systems, and analytics capabilities
  • Present research findings to key stakeholders and develop thought leadership content
  • Monitor and analyze factor and model performance, and providing regular insights within the firm
  • Perform due diligence on model output, and address inquiries from investment teams

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative investment research
  • Bachelor's degree in a Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Deep understanding of statistical modeling, econometric analysis, and machine learning approaches, with demonstrated ability to apply these techniques to investment problem
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python, R, or similar data analysis languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts effectively
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and passion for financial markets
  • Keen attention to detail with track record of delivering accurate work within deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA charter holder or candidate preferred

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $125,000- $140,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
