Our summer internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions lasting 10-11 weeks. We offer competitive compensation, educational and social programming throughout the summer, as well as housing assistance and relocation support for eligible interns.

The Corporate Development Intern participates in the Medtronic Corporate Development activity by performing market analysis, financial analysis, deal structuring and negotiation, due diligence coordination, and preparation for presentations. The Intern is responsible for executing project requirements, financial modeling and preparing and presenting proposals and recommendations to management. In addition, the Intern may interact with senior leadership on special projects. The Intern is required to work in close partnership with project teams that generally include personnel from all levels of leadership and in various corporate and/or business unit functional departments including business development, marketing, research, finance, tax, law, human resources, purchasing and procurement, information technology, quality assurance, and regulatory. The Intern generally is required to participate in 4 to 6 active projects at any one time, often times under tight timelines.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

- Provides quantitative and qualitative analysis, industry research, reporting and internal communication services with team members.

- Investigates and communicates potential opportunities for process improvement as well as potential project initiatives.

- Responsible for working with teams operating within a service group, or product group and/ or project group.

- Assists with the development, monitoring, coordination and implementation of projects.

- Works with different departments including sales, marketing and business development to develop knowledge of industry and organizational processes.

Location and Work Model 

The MBA Corporate Development Internships are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. All interns must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship. Medtronic is working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of its commitment to professional growth, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering the extraordinary. 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for a Summer 2027 MBA Corporate Development Internship, your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these basic requirements. 

 Working toward an MBA with an anticipated graduation date of  Spring 2028

 Ability to participate full time, 40 hours per week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1- August 14 for semester system programs or June 15-August 21 for quarter system programs. 

 Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and do not require sponsorship now or in the future for an employment visa. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for the Medtronic Summer Internship Program. 

 5+ years of relevant work experience

 Experience in medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries

 Knowledge of corporate strategy, M&A corporate development, valuation, financial modeling, due diligence, or market analysis

 Leadership experience through professional, academic, extracurricular, or community organizations

 Experience collaborating across functions and managing complex projects or competing priorities
