Job description
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
At Micron Technology, we are advancing the next wave of memory innovation by developing industry-leading DRAM and storage solutions that transform information into intelligence. The 3D DRAM Wet Process team operates at the intersection of research, process development, and manufacturing, driving technology breakthroughs that enable future memory scaling and high-volume semiconductor production.
As a 3D DRAM Wet Process Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in semiconductor process development within a collaborative engineering environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to technology development initiatives, analyze manufacturing and experimental data, and support innovative solutions for next-generation memory products. The internship includes a dedicated project culminating in a presentation of your findings and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize wet process technologies to meet product physical and electrical performance requirements.
- Collaborate with multi-functional process and equipment engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Perform root-cause analysis and failure-mode investigations to resolve process constraints and improve yield and performance.
- Analyze experimental and manufacturing data using statistical methods to support technology development decisions.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence and data-driven approaches, where appropriate, to enhance process analysis, problem-solving, and engineering productivity.
- Current Ph.D. student in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field; must not graduate before September 2027.
- Demonstrated experience with experimental design, data analysis, and scientific problem-solving.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges using root-cause analysis or model-based methods.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of statistics and experience with statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience applying Artificial Intelligence or AI-enabled tools to improve data analysis, process optimization, research, or engineering workflows.
- Programming or scripting experience for data analysis, automation, or modeling.
- General understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, with expertise in at least one semiconductor process area preferred.
- Experience working with large datasets and translating insights into actionable engineering recommendations.
