Job description

  • Act as an internal business consultant supporting servicing and operations business groups
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enable superior customer experiences and reduce costs
  • Collect data and analyze it for insights
  • Develop proposals and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Deploy improvements to systems and processes
  • Lead projects and make an impact on the business and Card Members
  • Create effective strategies, systems, and processes
  • Apply statistical manufacturing tools and consulting techniques in the finance industry
  • Collaborate within a large engineering organization of industrial engineers, analysts, and project managers
  • Coordinate with Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, Marketing, Brand, and external vendors
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently verbally and in writing with superiors and peers
  • Adept at root cause and quantitative analysis using analytical skills
  • Understanding of continuous process improvement and problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work independently or in teams
  • Results-driven ability to own projects and initiatives end-to-end
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project implementation with diverse customer groups
  • Knowledge of common industrial engineering software such as Excel and SQL
  • Knowledge, exposure, or expertise in multiple industrial engineering topics, including continuous improvement, intricate problem solving, cost-benefit analysis, Six Sigma, lean, project management, statistics, operations research, forecasting, quality control/statistical process control, work/motion study, design of experiments, and process or value stream mapping
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
