Python Developer

We're seeking someone to join our Cloud Workload Protection team as a Python Developer to focus on the coding of management, data extraction/transformation and automation tooling for our public cloud vulnerability scanning solution and related platforms.

What you'll do in the role:
•  Design, develop, and maintain python-based tooling and integrations between vulnerability scanning platforms and internal & external services, using applicable APIs and integration methods, for data flow management, automation, platform management, and monitoring/reporting purposes.
•  Leverage tools and resources available within the firm to simplify, automate, or eliminate inefficiencies.
•  Manage code-base and configuration via various version control systems.
•  Partner with stakeholders to drive stability, operational excellence, and a culture of efficiency.
•  Ensure team knowledge is current and forward-looking.
•  Take part in the squad Agile Kanban process which plays a critical role in helping to better understand ongoing efforts, ensures our work is clear and well communicated, and helps us to more effectively maximize productivity to help achieve the goal of maintaining a consistent release cycle.
•  Implement solutions for environment configuration (Dev/QA/Prod) and, build processes while documenting efforts and experiences with a focus on educating others to ensure reliability and ongoing supportability of the platform.
•  Use DevOps tools and processes to provide a fully functional CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid change, frequent updates and to ensure we can identify bugs and code issues prior to code reviews.
•  Work with colleagues from around the globe and across the MS technology organization to provide solutions via ongoing communications and consistent engagement.
•  Participate in technology evaluations and play an active role in ongoing strategy based on technology trends, best practices and industry standards.

What you'll bring to the role:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•  5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python or alternate programming languages such as Perl, Java, C, C++.
•  Basic Linux and Windows command-line knowledge.
•  Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD technologies including Jenkins, Stash, GitHub, Git, Jira (or equivalents).
•  Experience with vulnerability scanning platforms such as Qualys, Tenable, or Rapid7.
•  Track record of having worked on, and been involved in, the deployment and management of infrastructure at scale.
•  Able to troubleshoot, problem solve, and be an analytical thinker.
•  General networking and security knowledge (IP Networking, Subnetting, TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, DNS, NAT, Load balancing, packet trace and analysis, etc.).
•  Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal engagement skills ensuring an ability to communicate at all levels across multiple project aspects.
•  Focus on good time-management, task prioritization and an ability to meet agreed upon deadlines.
•  Confidence in your skills, a drive to self-start and a team player possessed of a high level of commitment and enthusiasm.
•  Familiarity with, or experience working in, an Agile environment leveraging Kanban or Scrum.
•  Background in a security focused environment or a distinct interest in developing deeper knowledge of cyber security.
•  Thorough understanding of security architecture principles, design, and engineering best practices.
•  Knowledge or experience in security and technology areas such Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), Common Platform Enumeration (CPE), NIST, OWASP Top 10, and MITRE framework.
