Job description

Quality - QC Auditor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Auditor is responsible for performing inspection and test activities and for ensuring that products and materials produced in the Molding and Printing Departments conform to specifications.

The Quality Auditor will maintain the integrity of the certified quality system requirements by conducting effective audits and communicating and documenting all key information to uphold the integrity of our Quality system and processes. This position is responsible for conducting food safety and quality audits to ensure that the Company’s objectives for food safety and quality meet or exceed customer’s and regulatory agency’s requirements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  • Perform dimensional testing using Q.C laboratory equipment
  • Visual inspection of parts for defects as per Quality System Procedures
  • Effective communication with: Packers, Cell Leads, Injection Molders and Shift Supervisors regarding general product quality and resolution to quality issues
  • Perform visual on line product inspection, report plugged cavities and measure cycle time
  • Document and segregate non-conforming product
  • Maintain quality files and enter Q.C. data electronically
  • Support the Engineering Department and sales function by performing designated tests and measurements
  • Perform  inspection and tests on incoming raw materials  (Melt index: Ash test)
  • Perform dimensional testing using Quality Control laboratory equipment (Optical Comparator, Magana Mike, Go-Cator, Laser Flatness Gauge, Micrometer, Band Gauges, Calipers) and completes appropriate documentation
  • Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Educational Requirements: Minimum: Secondary School completion certificate. Preferred: Post-secondary education, preferably in food safety or quality assurance.

Minimum Experience: Experience using basic laboratory equipment (band gauges, calipers, and micrometer). Previous Statistical Process Control Technical and quality laboratory and auditing experience would be a definite asset.

Computer Skills: Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements:

Communication Skills: Proven track record working with people and problem resolution and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills

Additional Education/Experience/Skills: Good Mathematical ability.
