MTS - Tooling, Vision and Controls Manager
Description -
The MTS VISTA Measurement Automation Controls Systems (VMACS) team has the mission to enable the growth of HP by delivering robust, cost-efficient, end-to-end measurement and smart manufacturing platforms that provide decision-quality insight across InkJet and Incubation businesses.
This first-level management position will manage a diverse, multi-disciplinary team accountable for delivering business-critical solutions for print quality assessment, pen characterization, end of line testing, reliability testing, manufacturing controls systems, and data collection across Print and Incubation businesses. This horizontal team supports multiple HP businesses including Home Print, PWP, Large Format, SPTS, and SNOW requiring close collaboration with local partners as well as partners in RCB (Bangalore) and Singapore. This team is part of the MTS Section within the Development, Infrastructure, and Operations organization.
Key Job Responsibilities and Objectives:
  • Lead and develop a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of software, controls, electrical, mechanical, integration, and test engineers, technicians, and program managers to deliver critical business outcomes.
  • Drive execution and delivery of print quality assessment, pen characterization, manufacturing automation, end-of-line testing, reliability testing, controls systems, and data collection platforms that support multiple HP businesses.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define priorities, align resources, and ensure successful delivery of solutions that meet business commitments across Home Print, PWP, Large Format, SPTS, SNOW, and incubation programs.
  • Develop and execute technology roadmaps and investment strategies that advance measurement, automation, smart manufacturing, and engineering productivity capabilities.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and employee growth.
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, coaching, succession planning, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and business organizations across Corvallis, Bangalore, and Singapore to achieve shared goals.
  • Own department financials, resource planning, and long-term workforce strategies to ensure efficient execution and sustainable growth.
  • Champion engineering excellence by establishing effective development processes, operational rigor, quality standards, and data-driven decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize and transform measurement, testing, controls, and manufacturing platforms to support future HP technologies and businesses

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related science
  • 8+ years of experience leading engineer teams as program manager or engineering technical lead
  • Ability to set strategy, lead, and develop a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and program managers
  • Excellent planning and execution skills and a commitment to deliver personally and through others
  • Demonstrated people leadership and development skills including interpersonal, teamwork, mentoring, technical development, motivational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong, effective relationships/partnerships at all levels
  • Strong Project Management Fundamentals (PMF) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute to strategic goals and roadmaps

The pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional
