Journeyman Electrician

Quality “Plus” Services (QPS)
Petersburg, VA & Regional Projects

Position Summary

Quality “Plus” Services (QPS) is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout Petersburg, VA and the surrounding region. This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting project schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
  • Run, bend, and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC)
  • Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and components
  • Install panels, breakers, transformers, motor controls, and lighting systems
  • Perform electrical testing using meters and diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades on site
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Assist apprentices and less experienced electricians as needed

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent documented experience
  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program preferred
  • 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience in industrial or commercial settings
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical safety standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Industrial plants, commercial facilities, and construction job sites
  • Regional travel may be required depending on project needs
  • Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
