Job description

Payrate starting at $16.91/hr! We are currently seeking a skilled Painter and Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role will involve a combination of painting, wall and ceiling repairs, patching, and providing assistance to our carpenters as needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as necessary. Apply paint or other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. 
  • Perform minor repairs and patching on walls and ceilings, including filling holes, cracks, gaps and replaicing ceiling tiles. Use appropriate materials and techniques to achieve seamless repairs and a smooth finish.
  • Assist in the preparation of surfaces for carpentry work, including removing old paint, wallpaper, or debris, and repairing damaged areas to create a clean and suitable substrate for carpentry installations.
  • Collaborate with carpenters to support them in various tasks such as lifting and moving materials, assembling structures, and installing fixtures. Provide assistance as needed to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing painting and maintenance tasks, including proper handling and disposal of materials, use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Use facilities work order system to track and update status of open work orders and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to provide updates on project status and any issues encountered

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent

 EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years' experience in painting and surface preparation in a healthcare setting preferred.

 CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use personal and agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office

SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION:
