Job description

Job purpose
The Operations Coordinator works closely with the Funtown Operations Manager in overall park operation. They also work with all department managers to assist them in any tasks they need performed. This position is the central communications hub by radio and phone for all park operations.
Duties and responsibilities
Team Member facility (Unit 1)
  • Monitors the activities within the building.
  • Cleans floor and tables as necessary.
  • Requests SWAT for cleaning of bathrooms and removal of trash as necessary.
  • Available to assist all park team members.
  • Selling uniforms and other miscellaneous, job-related items.

Manages all park communications as the communications hub.
  • Communicates through radio and phone.
  • Activates park services as requested by staff.
  • Activates 911 as requested by park medical services or on-duty manager.
  • Plays an integral part in emergency protocols, including contacting outside emergency agencies as needed.

Maintains daily documentation
  • Performs data entry of ride department operations to include break times, maintenance logs, pre-operation check sheets.
  • Performance documentations.
  • Trainings and audits.
  • Maintains parks daily operations log.

Assists in daily ride department supervisory functions and tasks in the park
  • Helps supervise ride operators throughout the day, ensuring park policies are followed and proper operation of rides is adhered to.
  • Occasionally assists in training employees in supervisory roles and in ride trainings.
  • Supervises ride leads, oftentimes delegating tasks and responsibilities to them.
  • Works closely with the Funtown Operations Manager and assistant ride managers in various other department roles.

Assists Funtown Operation Manager in a variety of tasks
  • Assists with organization and data entry of incident reports.
  • Assists with other tasks as requested.

Completes and verifies all necessary documentation/paperwork is being performed
  • Completes/collects all opening checklists.
  • Completes training documentation.
  • Completes performance documentation as necessary.

Complies with and enforces all policies and procedures of Funtown Splashtown USA
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the park.
  • Understand and enforce all safety policies and emergency procedures of ride and park operations.
  • Maintain professional appearance following all uniform guidelines.
  • Attend all required department, interdepartmental, and park trainings.
  • You may be assigned to other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Minimum of 1 year park experience is preferred.
  • Adapts to and implements change.
  • Able to multitask well.
  • Promotes core values of park.
  • Possesses team and people building skills.
  • Demonstrates the understanding of good leadership qualities.
  • A successful applicant will have strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude who is able to work alone and as part of a team.

Working conditions
  • While you will mostly be working in an air-conditioned office, your assistance may be needed inside the park and you may be in direct/indirect sunlight for long periods of time. We operate in most summer weather conditions and since you could be outside, and Maine weather is unpredictable, we ask that you dress appropriately and are prepared for light to heavy rain, changes in temperature, and humidity. While we do our best to provide shaded areas for our employees to be in, it is impossible to guarantee this at all times of the day.
  • We also suggest that you always come prepared with snacks, meals, and a water bottle full of water (we will refill water as much as needed for you).
  • Select tasks may require managers to work with gas, oil, or chlorine or to work at an elevated height.

Physical requirements
  • Applicant should be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while occasionally walking short distances.
  • Applicant should not have a fear of heights to work at select attractions, if needed.
  • Select rides require the ability to lift up to 30 lbs or 50 lbs.
