Quality Manager (Individual contributor)
Corpus Christi, TX

TRC's partner is a rapidly growing industrial manufacturing and systems integration company that designs and fabricates complex electrical distribution equipment, control systems, skids, and modular electrical buildings for customers across industrial and energy-related markets. As the organization continues to expand, they are investing in their quality function and seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to own and advance company-wide quality programs.
Overview
The Quality Manager will serve as the organization's lead quality professional and subject matter expert, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems that support fabrication, manufacturing, and project execution activities. This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility across the organization, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, HSE, and Executive Leadership.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in industrial manufacturing quality programs, is comfortable engaging directly with customers before and after contract award, and has experience ensuring compliance across fabrication environments. Experience with welding inspection, quality auditing, and interpretation of both mechanical and electrical drawings is highly valued.
Summary
The Quality Manager will drive continuous improvement of the company's quality management system while serving as the primary resource for quality compliance, customer quality requirements, inspections, and quality process development. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership influence, customer engagement, and hands-on problem-solving within a fabrication and manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities
Develop, implement, maintain, and improve quality management and compliance programs across manufacturing and fabrication operations.
Partner with Shop Management, Engineering, HSE, and Senior Leadership to establish and maintain quality standards and processes.
Serve as the primary quality representative for customer interactions throughout project pursuit, execution, and closeout.
Present company quality programs, procedures, inspection processes, and capabilities to prospective and existing customers.
Lead internal and external audits and support customer audits and inspections.
Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, inspection plans, and quality records.
Conduct root cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive action initiatives.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
Review and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and related engineering documents.
Support fabrication activities involving electrical distribution systems, control panels, control skids, and modular electrical buildings.
Coordinate inspection and testing activities and ensure proper documentation of quality requirements.
Track quality metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
 Collaborate across departments to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
8+ years of quality assurance, quality control, or quality systems experience within industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or related environments.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing quality programs and quality management systems.
Experience supporting fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial project environments.
Strong customer-facing experience, including presenting quality programs and participating in customer meetings and audits.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and fabrication documentation.
Knowledge of quality audits, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with welding quality programs and welding inspection activities strongly preferred.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a strong plus.
Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Ability to influence stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, HSE, and Executive Leadership teams.
