Now Hiring: Manager of Molding and Processing โ€” Lead the Team That Shapes Our Success!

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Manager of Molding and Processing is responsible for leading the organization in all activities regarding the injection molding process ensuring the ancillary equipment related to the molding process operates at maximum efficiency to achieve the high-quality product. This position is responsible for oversight and training of Process Technicians, Sr. Technicians, Mold setters, and Technicians.

Job Responsibilities:

The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.

  • Possess expert knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, hydraulic, and thermal dynamics. Understands the functionality of plastics and raw materials.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all ancillary equipment related to the injection molding process. Understands how to refurbish molds and mold repair.
  • Expert in the installation of molds, machine set up and the molding changing process.
  • Responsible for the design and development of new molds (tools). Adapt in reading of blueprints and part design.
  • Remains up to date on robotic engineering and how it relates to plastic injection molding.
  • Coordinates the building and repair of molds with internal departments as well as external service providers.
  • Directs, coordinates, develops and leads Molding and Process Technicians
  • Communicates daily with owner, COO, Plant Manager, Plant Engineer, Assistant Molding and Processing Manager and other supporting Operations Departments regarding status of molds, mold repairs, quality concerns, and other concerns within the injection molding process.
  • Understands and holds team to all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PPE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol.
  • Complies with and is a good steward with the Employee Handbook and all other Company policies and protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of High School Degree
  • Certification in Injection Molding
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of working knowledge of Plastic injection molding
  • Minimum of ten (10) yearsโ€™ experience in manufacturing and mechanical maintenance.
  • RJG III Certified Master Molder preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years managerial/leadership work history
  • Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft suite.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operatorโ€™s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Molding and Processing Manager must have the following abilities:

  • Physically perform/assist a Mold Change
  • Process machines, completing dial in process for all products.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Walk, Stand, bend, stretch for hours for hours at a time.
  • Visually inspect machines/tools, materials, and products to ensure quality and client metrics are met.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or greater weight at a time with assistance.
  • Read and comprehend written instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product.
  • Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise.
  • Ability to foster a culture or respect and professional development.
  • Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment in a collaborative team setting.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
  • Required to work flexible hours including on-call needs, weekends and night shift as business dictates.
