Quality Manager
AS9100 | Quality Management Systems | Manufacturing Operations
Onsite in Lapeer, MI
Estimated Salary: $120K-$140K with Comprehensive Benefits Package
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing Quality Management Systems (QMS), driving Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), ensuring compliance with AS9100 and industry standards, and partnering with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry quality requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality objectives that align with corporate goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection methods, testing procedures, and evaluation processes.
  • Oversee quality planning, inspection, testing, analysis, and product validation activities throughout manufacturing.
  • Review engineering designs, customer specifications, vendor quality documentation, and company quality records to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Represent the organization during customer audits, site visits, surveys, meetings, and technical presentations.
  • Review quality assurance and quality control data to verify compliance with internal procedures and customer expectations.
  • Communicate significant quality issues, risks, and improvement initiatives to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and present quality performance metrics, technical reports, and program updates to management.
  • Direct inspection and testing personnel to ensure effective quality control of materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable government regulations, customer requirements, and industry quality standards.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs to improve organizational quality awareness and compliance.
  • Utilize the PLEX ERP system to support quality processes, documentation, reporting, and workflow management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or a related manufacturing quality role.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience supervising quality personnel.
  • Experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) programs and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Experience establishing quality metrics and utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve organizational performance.
  • Proficiency using PLEX ERP software.
  • Experience supporting customer audits, supplier quality activities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of government, customer, and industry quality standards, including AS9100 and ISO 14001.
  • Ability to develop quality procedures, standards, work instructions, and training programs.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Must successfully complete background screening, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced experience leading quality organizations in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Professional certifications such as:
    • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
    • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
    • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Experience implementing enterprise-wide quality improvement initiatives.
  • Additional quality management certifications or leadership training.
