Lead Transformation, Not Events
If youโre a true Lean leader, you already know the difference, anyone can run Kaizen events. Very few can transform a site, influence senior leadership, and deliver sustained results. Thatโs exactly what this role is built for.
Why This Role Will Stand Out to You - This isnโt a โsupportโ CI role.
You will own the transformation agenda:
- Direct line to the Site Director and leadership team.
- Full responsibility for shaping and driving the siteโs Lean strategy.
- Authority to influence what gets worked onโand what doesnโt.
- A mandate to deliver real, measurable business impact (not activity metrics)
If youโve ever been frustrated by:
- Leadership that โtalks Leanโ but doesnโt commit.
- Kaizen events that donโt stick.
- CI roles with no real influence.
โฆthis is the environment youโve been looking for.
What Youโll Actually Do:
Own the Transformation:
- Build and drive a site-wide Lean roadmap aligned to business strategy (Hoshin Kanri).
- Partner directly with the Site Director to prioritize the highest-impact opportunities.
- Drive measurable gains across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth.
Lead Where It Matters:
- Facilitate high-impact Kaizen events focused on flow, constraint removal, and cost transformation.
- Target high-volume, high-revenue value streams where results matter most.
- Ensure every initiative delivers hard, tracked resultsโnot theoretical improvements..
Be the Change Agent Others Arenโt:
- Challenge leadership teams when neededโand bring them along.
- Embed Lean thinking into daily decisions, not just projects.
- Ensure sustainability through standard work, daily management, and accountability systems.
Build a Lean Culture (Not Just Tools):
- Develop operators, supervisors, and leaders into capable problem solvers.
- Coach the organization on how to think, not just what to do.
- Create a pipeline of future Lean leaders across the site.
What You Bring (And What Weโre Really Looking For):
Youโre not just certified. Youโve delivered results:
- Experienced Lean Black Belt / CI Leader in manufacturing.
- Proven track record of driving measurable improvements (cost, throughput, lead time, etc.).
- Deep expertise in:
- Value Stream Transformation.
- Flow & Pull Systems.
- Hoshin Kanri.
- SMED, TPM, Standard Work.
- Daily Management & Visual Systems.
But more importantly:
- You know how to influence leaders who donโt report to you.
- Youโve successfully changed behavior, not just processes.
- You push for impact over activity.
Strong Differentiators:
- Lean systems experience (TPS, Danaher, etc.).
- Advanced problem-solving and analytics (SPC, regression, hypothesis testing).
- Change leadership credentials (PROSCI, Agile, etc.).
The Bottom Line:
This role is for someone who wants to:
- Own a transformationโnot just participate in one.
- Build something that actually lasts.
- Operate as a true strategic partner, not a support function.
If youโre already succeeding where you areโbut know you could have greater impact in the right environmentโthis is that opportunity.
Required Competencies, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelorโs degree in engineering (industrial engineering strongly preferred).
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with leadership in Kaizen, Continuous Improvement.
- Proficient in Gemba Kaizen, Value Stream Analysis, Visual & Daily Management, Hoshin Kanri, SMED, TPM, Standard Work Development, and 3P Layout.
- Strong ability to facilitate Kaizen Events on these methods and tools and helping to identify future Lean minded personnel.
- Proficiency leading cost reduction and process flow improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with Kaizen tools, such as 3P, TAKT Time, Standard Work Combination Sheets, Standard WIP and Kaizen Newspaper.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide leadership and strategic direction as part of the site leadership team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean Master on TPS or Danaher Business System Certification.
- Project management experience with a proven track record of meeting timelines or proactively adjusting to achieve planned goals.
- Agile certification such as SCALE.
- Change management such as PROSCI certification.
- Strong analytical background - SPC, Hypothesis Testing, Regression, and Correlation Analysis.
- Problem-solving skills, such as 5-Whys, 8D, Shainin, etc.
