Position Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Manager with proven experience in chemical manufacturing to lead our quality systems and laboratory operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting our commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, Train and mentor lab and quality personnel in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) practices, testing protocols, and continuous improvement tools.
- Lead the Quality Control Laboratory, overseeing analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with industry regulations and internal standards.
- Oversee compliance with relevant chemical industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA,); ensure readiness for internal and external audits, apply advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor, analyze, and improve production processes.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints using root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Oversee Chesterfield Quality Systems, leading team to maintain and improve Quality Manual and System Level Procedures.
- Coordinate and lead external audits required to meet Food Grade, UL, KOSHER, HALA and other certifications.
- Responsible for product Certificate of Analysis, maintaining Product Specification database within Lab Management Program and SAP.
- Partner with the Nylon Commercial Team to facilitate Customer Surveys, Audits, and inquiries. Collaborate with Production, R&D, and EHS teams to support quality initiatives and process optimization.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, control plans, and data reporting systems.
- Evaluate vendor quality performance and support raw material qualification processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science or engineering discipline.
- 5+ years in a quality role within the chemical or process manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, chemical testing methods, and SPC tools.
- Experience with customer complaint handling and CAPA systems in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, RC14001, and regulatory requirements related to chemical manufacturing.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience with LIMS and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
The expected base pay for this position is $118,800 - $178,200
