Join the Duro-Last team, a brand of Amrize Building Envelope and the world's largest manufacturer of custom-fabricated commercial roofing solutions. 

Were seeking a Quality Supervisor who's ready to be part of an innovative, people-first brand shaping the future of the roofing industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Execute assigned tasks to support establishment, maintenance, alignment, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System. Responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, customer requirements, quality policies, procedures and accommodating requests for support. Establishes weekly and monthly objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and leads team to achieve department goals. Leverages prior experience to solve issues using latitude of existing guidelines and recommending changes necessary to obtain plant goals.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Create and maintain a collaborative and team-oriented environment, with a positive attitude and adaptability.
  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods and liaising with appropriate teammates and leadership to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Works across all shifts and departments from raw products to finished packaged goods to resolve quality issues.
  • Communicate and/or escalate appropriate test data and trends.
  • Investigate, collect data, and disposition non-conforming material on hold.
  • Submit deviation requests as required.
  • Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Process Control Plans and Design of Experiment among other tools to help guide process improvement activity.
  • Provide feedback to plant Operations, Supply Chain, and management personnel on all issues concerning non-conforming product, communicating quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineer & Quality Engineer to complete CQV testing, and equipment validation as required.
  • Assist and complete investigation of customer complaints and production issues.
  • Maintain the company's equipment calibration program and conduct Measurement System Analysis studies.
  • Work with Team Leads to ensure all supplies necessary to complete assigned tasks are purchased and available.
  • Encourage team leads to identify opportunities that will improve quality and provide necessary support in change implementation.
  • Qualified as site representative for UL / FM / PIMA and other similar audits.
  • Lead 5S activities within assigned area.
  • Supports quality leads and technicians to ensure daily results review and reporting are complete to validate product and process compliance to standards.
  • Works with Quality Manager to encourage team to identify opportunities for improvement, drive continuous improvement, and implement quality systems throughout the company.
  • Provide training to production, research, or other personnel on all quality methods and equipment.
  • Independently collects and tracks quality and production data to identify variation in raw materials, finished goods, manufacturing processes, equipment calibrations, etc. (SPC, SQC), and interprets data, working cross-functionally to suggest changes as needed.
  • Ensures teammates within respective department complete training and can competently perform roles and responsibilities outlined in training programs and competency matrix.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field. Associates degree and 2 years of experience will be held as equivalent.
  • 5 years experience working in a quality lab testing environment
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Gage R&R or method validation experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma or continuous process improvement experience desired.
  • SQC, SPC experience desired.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, professional environment, with minimal supervision.
  • A self-starter with efficient time management abilities, able to multitask.
  • Work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, with a positive attitude and adaptability.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
  • Must be able to pass a medical evaluation.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and arms to lift and reach overhead, carry, grasp, finger, push, and pull.
  • Occasionally bends, stoops, and kneel.
  • Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions and proximity to moving mechanical parts and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system.
