Job Summary:

The Lab Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting laboratory operations and ensuring efficient administrative functions. This includes processing lab specimens, coordinating between laboratory staff and medical personnel, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will help contribute to patient satisfaction and care quality by ensuring that laboratory services are delivered effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process lab specimens and ensure proper documentation and labeling.
  • Assist in managing lab inventory and supplies to ensure availability.
  • Coordinate with lab staff for timely specimen analysis and results reporting.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with health regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and address inquiries regarding lab services and results.
  • Support billing and insurance verification processes as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and organized lab environment adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist in scheduling lab appointments and managing patient flow.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams to support patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed and directed by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
