Quality Technician

The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process. In this role, you will inspect machined, fabricated, electrical, and mechanical assemblies, identify and resolve quality issues, and help ensure products meet customer and company standards. You will play a key role in maintaining our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, supporting audits, managing calibration programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background, excellent inspection skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.

Job Duties:

- Perform inspections of machined, fabricated, electrical, and mechanical components and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications.

- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and quality documentation.

- Assist production teams in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing quality issues.

- Support investigations into non-conforming materials and products, documenting findings and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

- Maintain and administer the equipment calibration program to ensure inspection equipment remains accurate and compliant.

- Support and maintain the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including preparation for and participation in internal and external audits.

- Help develop, update, and improve inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.

- Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure quality requirements are met throughout manufacturing.

What you need to be successful:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.

- Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified organization.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.

- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing production needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.

- Previous experience leading or mentoring quality teams.

- Mechanical or electrical manufacturing background.
