Quality Inspector

Location: Euclid, OH

Job Summary:
Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A), a leading provider of repairs, services, and parts for the Power Generation industry, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing operations in Euclid, Ohio.

In this role, you will ensure machined parts and assemblies meet engineering specifications and quality standards through in-process, layout, and final inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing quality control, blueprint reading, and precision measurement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect machined parts and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform:
    • In-Process Inspections.
    • Layout Inspections.
    • Final Inspections.
    • First Article/First Run Inspections.
  • Measure dimensions and tolerances using precision inspection tools.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry when required.
  • Complete and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Generate and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Communicate quality concerns and findings with production and management teams.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Assist other shop operations as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality inspection environment.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined components.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement equipment, including:
    • Micrometers.
    • Vernier Calipers.
    • Indicators.
    • Gauges.
  • Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances accurately.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 6S principles.
